John Allen is a British-born author whose work spans autobiographical fiction, contemporary fiction, fantasy, and nonfiction. His writing explores a wide range of subjects, from marriage, divorce, and personal experience to espionage, terrorism, culpability, prophetic literature, and the Book of Revelation.

Among his novels are The Jerusalem Deal and Cultfilm, both of which attracted the attention of award-winning British film director John Walsh. Walsh described The Jerusalem Deal as having the scope and ingredients of a potentially major motion picture, praising its intricate and provocative plotting. He subsequently signed John Allen for a second film project, Cultfilm, and has compared Allen's work with writers including Stephen King, Clive Barker, Frank Peretti, John Grisham, and Michael Crichton.

John has also completed The Carpentier Trilogy, a series set in the 1870s that follows cousins Maximilienne and Emilie Carpentier after they inherit an island in the equatorial Atlantic. His fantasy novels Hipper Crit and Esidarap explore enduring themes intended to appeal to both adult and younger readers.

His autobiographical novels draw on personal experience to examine the complexities of marriage and divorce, combining serious reflection with humor. His autobiographical account of life in South Africa during the apartheid era offers an intimate perspective on the period, including observations about aspects of the era that received less attention in the international media.

Alongside his fiction, John has written works examining prophetic literature, human culpability, and Revelation, demonstrating the broad range of subjects that have shaped his writing career.

John Allen lives in France with his French wife, Colette, where he continues to write.
